Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Saif, Tuesday said that the government will not allow the introduction of any diesel fuel shipment that contains high percentage of sulfur and does not meet Jordanian standards and specifications.
In a statement for Petra, the minister confirmed that all new shipments contracted by Jordan Petroleum Products Marketing Company in the frame of the signed memorandum of understanding with the government, must pass Jordanian standards test. " We will not allow any undesired sulfur percentage in these shipments, " he added.
The Ministry of Energy has signed an agreement with the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC), French oil giant Total and Jordan’s Manaseer Oil and Gas, allowing them to import 45,000 tons of diesel per month from the world markets and sell them directly to consumers .
