PM checks on plan to establish studies and preservation center for artifacts

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - -Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday checked on plans of the Department of Antiquities (DoA) to establish studies and preservation center for artifacts in Amman.

Ensour was briefed by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al Fayez and Director General of the Department of Antiquities Munthir Jamhawi, on the importance of this project in preserving and storing artifacts as some of them are affected by weather conditions.

The projects includes the establishment of halls for archiving and preserving artifacts, a library and a lab.

The prime minister voiced the government's support to this important project as it would contribute to protecting antiquities, and called for an immediate implementation of this project.

Al Fayez said the prime minister's visit to the project's site, reflects his continued support to the archaeology sector that represents out history.
