Ensour tours Wadi Araba

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday toured the southern district of Wadi Araba along with a ministerial team, to have a first-hand look at service and developmental projects,being implemented there.

While in the field, Ensour underlined the importance of Wadi Araba, not only at the local level, but as a linking point in the Middle East. Further, the premier said that his visit comes in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who ordered the government to work in the field and meet with citizens in their local communities as well as addressing their needs.

"The government will honour all its commitments, and it will not promise anything out of its hands," Ensour told locals in Wadi Araba.

The Red-Dead Sea Water Canal project will pass through this region, the prime minister said, while noting that the project will tens of thousands of jobs as well as ensuring knowledge-transfer for locals across its path.

Ensour also spoke about other key infrastructure projects, which include a railway between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea, as well as rehabilitating and expanding the road linking the two seas together.

While focusing on local issues, Ensour also underlined the importance of all Jordanians to remain united to face all challenges on the one hand and preserve the security and stability of the Kingdom on the other.

Meanwhile, Ensour and the 11-minister team, listened to the demands and comments from representatives of the local community in Wadi Araba and promised to address them.
