Cold,rainy weather forecast till Thursday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Cold and partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected to prevail on Tuesday with a chance for scattered showers at times across the Kingdom, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the weather will gradually stabilize at night and clouds will decrease, but it will remain cold with fog and frost formation on hilly area.

Temperatures will rise on Wednesday becoming around their annual average; therefore it will be relatively cold in most regions and mild in Aqaba and the Dead Sea with clouds at various altitudes. Winds will be southwesterly to southeasterly moderate, the JMD added at its daily brief.

The meteorologists said that a further rise in temperatures is forecast Thursday; therefore it will be relatively cold in highlands, mild in the Badia regions and warm in the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Winds will be southeasterly moderate with clouds at high altitudes.

Maximum temperatures expected in the capital for today will reach 12 degrees Celsius dropping down to 6 degrees at night, in the northern regions they will range between a high of 9 degrees and a low of 5 degrees, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 20 degrees plunging to 13 degrees at night.
