Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The President of the Jordan Press Association (JPA) Tareq Momani traveled on Tuesday to the UAE to follow up on the case of Jordanian journalist Tayseer al-Najjar who has been detained in the country for over 50 days.
A member of the JPA council told Quds Press that Momani was assigned to go to the UAE to find out further details regarding Najjar’s arrest.
Najjar was arrested just under two months ago in the UAE. He has not been charged with an offence and has not stood trial. In addition, neither the Jordanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi nor the Jordanian Consulate in Dubai have been notified of the reasons behind Najjar’s arrest.
Momani said the syndicate received information that the journalist was detained at the airport in Dubai as he was heading back to Amman.
