Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In a letter to the U.S Congress, 340 US rabbis from the major streams of Judaism expressed support for the Iran nuclear deal.
Yedioth Ahronth website Tuesday reported that the letter was sent Monday urged the House of Representatives and Senate to endorse the agreement, in which sanctions are lifted in exchange for restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is strongly opposed to the deal. He argues it will fail to block Iran's path to nuclear weapons that could be used to target the Jewish state.
The agreement, finalized last month after more than a year of intense negotiations, would roll back Iran's nuclear program in exchange for an easing of crippling economic sanctions.
