Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) President, Hamdi Tabbaa, Sunday called for founding a Joint Jordanian-American Business council to explore wider prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries' business communities.
Tabba said during a meeting with U.S. ambassador to Jordan, Alice Wells, that the American investments in the Kingdom totaled $2.2 billion, noting that the Kingdom's private sector is looking forward to attracting more U.S. inward investment in Jordan in various economic sectors.
Moreover, he noted the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries, which, he said, had doubled the volume of bilateral trade, which currently stood at $3.4 billion.
Wells, for her part, said her country was ready to provide all support that would develop economic ties with Jordan, as well as to promote ties between the business community in both countries.
"The U.S. government realizes the challenges Jordan faces, and will offer all available support to the Kingdom to remain an oasis of peace and stability and achieve further economic progress and prosperity", Wells added.
