Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II said the Aqaba Special Economic Zone is a key regional economic and tourism gateway, and urged its authority to boost the port city's status as a magnet of investment. In a meeting with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, ASEZA, commissioner and board members, King Abdullah stressed ASEZA as a key supporter of the national economy.
He urged closer cooperation between ASEZA and all governmental stakeholders and the private sector to bolster the southern city's status as a regional hub for business.
The King told the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, that he appreciated efforts made over the past two years to accomplish the liquefied natural gas, and the liquefied petroleum gas terminals.
These, he said, will be vital in enhancing the Kingdom's capabilities to address the energy problem and back up the national economy through financial revenues and the creation of job opportunities.
He urged officials to carry out priority projects, take down barriers to investment and develop the tools to attract domestic and foreign tourism through improved air transport services.
