Anti-Narcotics foils bid to smuggle 500,000 drug pills

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Anti-narcotics agents foiled an attempt to smuggle 500,000 narcotic pills via Queen Alia International Airport and arrested three suspects involved in the case.

The Public Security Department (PSD) said they received a tip off about suspects planning to smuggle the contraband through the airport and police placed them under surveillance.

Upon entering the airport, one of the culprits was stopped and a search of his luggage by officers yielded 150,000 drug pills concealed in children's bags.

Police also suspected another traveler booked on the same flight, and a search of his baggage yielded another 150,000 drug pills.

The PSD said both traffickers admitted association with a third suspect who had sold them the narcotics. He was trapped and arrested while being in possession of 200,000 pills.
