Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The director of the Free Zone Corporation, Marwan Al Qudah, said exports from Jordan's free zones increased during June, compared to the previous month.
Al Qudah told Petra that free zone exports during June amounted to JD267 million, an increase of 14 percent compared to the month of May, due to an increase in automotive sector exports inside and outside the Kingdom, notably in the Saudi market.
He added that investors in the free zones were able to reach new markets after their exports were blocked to traditional markets, such as Iraq and Syria.
Regarding trade volume, Al Qudah pointed out that the total of exported goods from the free zones to foreign and domestic markets stood at JD135 million in June, of which JD92 million went to foreign markets and JD43 million to the local market.
He added that the total weight of goods manufactured in the free zones for the month of June totaled 9 thousand tons.
Also, Al Qudah reported the total value of machines exported from the free zones to foreign and internal markets in June reached JD132 million, of which JD56 million went to foreign markets and JD76 million to the domestic market.
