Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Three people were killed in two separate vehicle crashes in Balqa and Irbid, and 76 were injured in 263 fire and other accidents that occurred across the Kingdom in the past 24 hours, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).
The CDD's information and protection education administration said in a statement that the department, through its centres spread nationwide, also dealt with 506 cases of various illnesses and emergencies.
In the first deadly accident, the CDD said its rescue teams handled an accident in the Balqa Governorate, west of Amman, where two vehicles collided, injuring six people who received first aid on the spot. But two seriously injured occupants were declared dead on arrival at the main Salt Government Hospital, while the other four were listed in a moderate condition, it added.
The statement said a third person was killed and another suffered various fractures and injuries all over the body as their vehicle crashed near the northern city of Irbid. The injured man was in a fair condition in hospital.
In the south, rescue teams and medics handled six people who were injured when two buses crashed in the Karak Governorate. They administered first aid to them before transferring them to a nearby hospital, where their condition was described as fair.
