Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, on Sunday, visited Omar Bin Al Khattab Charitable Society in Zarqa governorate, northeast of Amman, and checked on the condition of orphans at the center.
Children expressed their happiness at meeting the Crown Prince, gathered around him and shook hands with him. Many had their pictures taken with him.
Prince Al-Hussein oversaw the children's extracurricular activities, organized by the center for 34 orphans, such as handicrafts work, in an effort to hone their talents and develop their creativity.
The Crown Prince sat with a number of children, while they were reading in the center's library, and they shared stories about their aspirations and ambitions.
The Prince was also briefed on sports activities made available for children at the center's gym, which aims to build their physical abilities and channel their energies positively.
Prince Al-Hussein distributed gifts to the children, who congratulated him on his birthday, which falls today, saying: "Happy Birthday Your Highness Prince Al-Hussein." Under the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Highness instructed the Royal Hashemite Court personnel to renovate the center's building, outfit it with furniture, and thus help raise the center's level of care, accommodation, supplies and services.
His Highness praised the charity workers' efforts in performing their humanitarian duty, in order to serve orphaned children and improve their standard of living.
