Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) summer session exams are proceeding well with students exhibiting discipline and commitment and no violations being recorded, Deputy Premier and Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat said Saturday.
The minister, who toured the exam halls at government schools in the East Amman district of Marka, said the exams this semester did not witness any public gatherings in the vicinity or outside schools as was the case during previous years. He added, "This is an indication that citizens have been cooperating with the ministry and have been eager to provide a quiet and secure environment for their children." The minister said this exam session had seen lesser number of violations of exam regulations than in previous sessions, adding that offenses recorded until today's exam did not exceed 300. He attributed this to students' and parents' awareness as well as the efforts of the local community and the measures taken by the ministry and other concerned authorities.
During the tour, Thneibat talked to students who expressed their satisfaction with the level of today's math exam and the measures taken to ensure a comfortable atmosphere in schools that are the venue of this exam.
Commenting on the math exam in which about 100,000 students from various streams across the country had sat today, the minister said all questions were from the curriculum and the exam had taken into consideration the differences in the levels of students.
The minister expressed the hope that the discipline manifested over the past days of the Tawjihi exam, which determines the future course of students' education, will be maintained.
