Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Asian Football Association vice-president, told UEFA delegates yesterday that he would expand football in the world market if he were elected FIFA president in May.
Prince Ali is standing as a presidential candidate against current incumbent Sepp Blatter who seeks a fifth term.
“FIFA in a commercial perspective has in many ways been riding the wave of European football’s success, which has also helped directly the success of the FIFA World Cup. And while the popularity of the World Cup has soared the image of the organisation has sadly declined,” Prince Ali told delegates in Vienna.
“Imagine a rejuvenated FIFA, with its own reputation rebuilt and restored, coupled with the love of football. The only possible outcome would be explosive commercial growth far exceeding what we see now.”
