Jordanian police opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death. Israel's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that after an inquiry was performed, it would begin the process of transferring the body to Israel for burial.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A 60-year-old Israeli woman vacationing in Jordan with her family drowned off the Aqaba shore over the weekend in what investigators described as a scuba diving accident,According Ammon's sources .

According to eyewitness accounts, the woman apparently lost consciousness while diving, although the reasons were still unclear.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Jordanian police opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.

Israel's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that after an inquiry was performed, it would begin the process of transferring the body to Israel for burial.
