Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Media Institute (JMI) opens tomorrow an international conference dubbed "Syrian Refugees in Jordan: The Question of Community and Media" on Dead Sea shores with the participation of more than 200 academics, journalists and political figures as well as government officials.
In addition to Jordan, participants come from Turkey and Lebanon and representatives of international relief and refugee organization and 30 Arab and world media outlets.
The gathering seeks to build a database on the conditions of Syrian refugees in Jordan in particular and neighboring countries in general in addition to creating opportunities for networking relations between the media and the various organizations involved in the affairs of Syrian refugees.
Co-organized with the Norwegian Media Institute, the event also aims to develop a better and more objective understanding of conditions in the host countries, particularly Jordan, as well as the challenges confronting these countries in terms of sustainability of services provided to refugees and meeting commitments related thereto.
