Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Iraqi government has allowed all kinds of Jordanian vegetables and fruits to enter without prior licenses as in the past, according to the president of the Federation of Exporters of fruits and vegetables Association, Sulaiman al- Hiyari.
Hiyari explained according to al-Ghad Jordanian newspaper that this came as a result of the Jordanian and Iraqi private sector's efforts and in cooperation with the Iraqi government.
He added that "this will lead to a reduction in fees from US $ 2000 to US $ 700 on each truck were paid on the Iraqi border."
Al- Hiyari praised the decision which he described as "auspicious for the local agricultural sector during the current season, as it will solve the problem that we had experienced in the past five years when it used to ask for prior licenses, in addition to grant licenses for certain varieties of vegetables and fruits from Jordan in the past."
He said that the decision " will increase the fruits and vegetables exports, reflected positively on the next planting season."
He explained, "that Jordanian trucks loaded with vegetables and fruits from Jordan pays US $ 300 a barriers fees belonging to the Islamic state organization under official receipt to allow the trucks to pass."
