Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan on Sunday urged the international community to pressure Israel to end its illegal unilateral actions in the yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and said it is mulling legal options that could be resorted to.
Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh told the ambassadors of permanent members of the Security Council, as also the ambassador of the European Union, and the ambassador of Italy whose country is the current president of the EU, that His Majesty King Abdullah II has instructed the government to take all measures, including legal, to stop the Israeli moves in the holy compound.
Judeh said the blatant Israeli violations including the use of force against Muslim worshippers, denying them access to the Mosque, terrorizing Jordanian Awqaf employees and allowing Jewish extremists to storm the yards of the holy compound are a clear infringement of the international law and run contrary to Israel's obligations as the occupying power.
