Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II will attend the NATO summit scheduled to be hosted by the United Kingdom from September 4-5.
The periodic NATO summit meetings provide an opportunity for heads of states and government of member countries to discuss various global challenges.
On the sidelines of the summit, King Abdullah will meet with a number of dignitaries and heads of states participating in the meeting to discuss friendly ties with the Kingdom and means to further enhance them in various fields.
During his visit, the monarch will also hold talks with the British Prime Minister David Cameron and other British officials on friendly ties between the two countries and ways of boosting them in various domains.
NATO is an alliance of 28 countries from Europe and North America, which are bound by the principle of collective defense. The alliance began with 12 countries, including the UK, in 1949 and now boasts former members of the Soviet-run Warsaw Pact including the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.
