King visits PSD, opens new premises of preventive security department

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Monday visited the Public Security Department (PSD) where he met with its director, General Tawfiq Tawalbeh.

The King checked on the implementation of the executive plan regarding the PSD's security strategy as well as the progress achieved in the area of police and traffic services.

His Majesty appreciated the services in policing and humanitarian sphere provided by the PSD members as well as the role played by police units in supporting state institutions in enforcing the law to serve Jordanians and other nationals and protecting their lives and property.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of continuing development and modernization of police work in keeping with legal framework and along professional lines. He also underlined the need to raise the level of coordination and cooperation in dealing with developments and challenges facing the Kingdom.

On the sidelines of the visit, His Majesty also opened the new premises of the Preventive Security Department, and toured its various sections, checking on various kinds of equipment used to raise the level of police work and enable the department to fulfil its duties.

General Tawalbeh said the PSD will continue to implement the directives of His Majesty to improve the level of security services offered to citizens.
