Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed on Thursday that protecting Jordan’s interests is a top priority.
The King was speaking during a meeting with retired military servicemen in Mafraq, where he praised the heroic role played by the Jordanian Armed Forces and security departments in protecting the Kingdom’s borders.
The monarch issued directives to the Hashemite Royal Court to set up clubs for military retirees across the Kingdom. He also reiterated that improving the citizens’ living conditions and creating Jobs to fight unemployment and poverty will always remain high on his agenda.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah spoke about the economic burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting more than 1.3 million Syrian refugees, affirming that providing services for these refugees outpaces the Kingdom’s limited resources. Meanwhile, His Majesty noted a ten-year economic plan to spur the Jordanian economy.
On Gaza, King Abdullah highlighted the efforts exerted by Jordan to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and end the suffering of the Palestinian people in the enclave. He also noted the contacts made by Jordan with regional and international stakeholders to shed light on the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.
