25-07-2014 03:28 AM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II praised the Jordanian youth and their role in achieving progress and development.

In remarks at a ceremony to launch the "Tatawa' Initiative" in Amman on Thursday, attended by several members of the Royal family as well as senior officials, His highness highlighted the accomplishments made by Jordan over the past 93 years with the help of its sons and daughters and through their knowledge and determination.

The Crown Prince said that Jordan has an 'army’ of youths who are ready to work, adding that the "Tatawa' Initiative" was founded to coordinate efforts and guide those willing to work by facilitating their access to the best methods to ensure continued giving.

"The initiative is a means for the volunteers to develop their personality, interact with the society and provide them with the skills to communicate, plan and work as a team," he said.

His Highness thanked the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, INJAZ and the United Nations for their efforts to institutionalize voluntary work in Jordan.

During the ceremony, the Crown Prince also witnessed the signing of "Tatawa" document by board chairmen of institutions supporting the initiative, which has been adopted by 50 companies and institutions.

He also watched a documentary that highlighted views of citizens on voluntary work and their enthusiasm to join in to serve their country.

The initiative aims to improve the capability of institutions to manage the affairs of volunteers, instill a sense of social responsibility in citizens, and encourage them to adopt local issues, ensure a better use of resources, increase the number of volunteers and improve individual skills.
