Jordanians protest Israel's offensive in Gaza

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Hundreds of Jordanians took to the streets on Wednesday to condemn Israel's aggression in the Gaza Strip.

Near the Israeli embassy in Amman demonstrators called for the immediate expulsion of the Israeli ambassador.They also urged the government to withdraw Jordan's ambassador in Tel Aviv.

Protesters carried banners with words of solidarity with the Palestinians and chanted slogans against Israel, condemning Israel 's killing of innocent civilians and children in the Gaza Strip during its recent offensive. They also called for annulling the 1994 Wadi Araba peace treaty between Jordan and Israel.

The Israeli military confirmed that it has intensified the offensive in the Gaza Strip, pounding 160 Hamas sites overnight Wednesday in massive air assaults against Gaze-based Islamist militants.

Palestinian media reported on Wednesday that Israeli air strikes have killed at least 46 people in Gaza, including at least two young children. Gaza militants also renewed their rocket attacks on central Israel, including Tel Aviv, causing no casualties so far.
