King opens new mosque near Amman

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Friday opened the Prophet Ayub Shrine Mosque in the Batana area in the governorate of Balqa.

The King, HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah, along with worshippers, also listened to the Friday sermon, which was delivered by Imam of the Royal Family Ahmad Hilayel, in which he spoke about the meanings and virtues of patience.

Also, Hilayel praised His Majesty’s sponsorship of the holy shrines and tombs of the prophets and Prophet Mohammed’s (peace be upon him) companions and martyrs. He also praised the King’s custodianship of the Islamic holy places in Jerusalem and the Al Aqsa Mosque.

The mosque has two main halls for prayers, having been built atop a 5-thousand square meter plot.

Additionally, the King listened to a briefing by Minister of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Hayel Abdul Hafiz Daoud on the religious importance of the shrine and its renovation.
