Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Arab and Muslim representatives on Saturday called for allowing access into Jerusalem for UNESCO experts so as to have a first-hand account of Israeli violations.

The request came on the sideline of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee meeting, currently held in Doha. It aims at providing a detailed presentation of such violations, especially in the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosques along with its vicinity.

Head of the Jordanian delegation Dr. Wasfi Kailani said after the meeting that Israel's breaching of international laws and means to face its "arrogance" were discussed by the representatives.

The meeting, held upon a request by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), also called for not being alarmed that the Jerusalem issue would be "politicized," arguing that Israeli violations are affecting the City's heritage due to Israel's constant attempts to Judaize the City.

The 38th session of the World Heritage Committee began on June 15 and will continue until June 25.
