Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II urged officials to carry out on the spot checks about the efficacy of services offered to citizens and directly address their grievances, adding that he sensed a need for this during his field visits to various regions across the Kingdom.

During a visit to the Prime Ministry where he met with Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and chaired a part of the Cabinet meeting, the King said, "I assure everyone that Jordan is strong and has taken all necessary measures and is ready to deal with any developments in the region to protect its people, borders and territory." His Majesty said that the government is cooperating and coordinating with the Armed Forces and security agencies to protect Jordan, our borders and internal security.

"I meet with you today to highlight a number of issues of concern to citizens, mainly during the holy month of Ramadan, and you must shoulder the responsibility of providing commodities at reasonable prices to citizens and ensure the readiness of the Military and Civil Service Consumer Corporations during the holy month," he added.

The King stressed the need to monitor prices before, during and after Ramadan to protect the citizens from any unjustified hike in prices.

His Majesty said that following the influx of Syrian refugees into the Kingdom, pressure on services in most governorates, mainly in Irbid and Mafraq, will increase. "Therefore, more should be done to preserve the quality of services offered to citizens." "During my visits over the past six months, I heard from all Jordanians in the north and the south a request to enforce the rule of law," he said, noting that "the rule of law is a red line for us all and that no one is above the law." His Majesty affirmed that "we will not tolerate anyone trying to tamper with the security of Jordan, whether inside or outside Jordan." He said that the economic blueprint should entail enhancing true partnership among all sectors as well as the need for the ministries to activate partnership councils with concerned sectors to serve them.
