Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh said that Jordan will not spare any effort to work towards achieving the two-state solution in the Middle East.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry Mohammad Tayseer Bani Yassin at the opening of the UNRWA's Consultative meetings, attended by representatives of 24 donor countries, Judeh said, "We are continuing efforts at the regional and international levels to achieve this objective and overcome obstacles facing the resumption of serious peace talks that address all final status issues." The minister highlighted the important role of the UNRWA as well as the services it offers to more than five million Palestinian refugees in the health, educational and social fields.
UNRWA's new Commissioner General Pierre Krahenbuhl thanked Jordan for hosting the meeting, pointing to the challenges facing the agency to preserve the level of services to the refugees in various fields.
He also spoke about the challenges facing the UN agency in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, adding that reforms adopted by UNRWA in the health and educational domains were fruitful.
