Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II, on Tuesday, congratulated the new Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, on his election and voiced his confidence in Al-Sisi's ability to lead Egypt to a new phase of development and modernization, strengthen security and stability and national reconciliation and restore Egypt's key regional role , Petra News Agency reported.

The King expressed, in a cable to Al-Sisi, keenness to cement ties between Jordan and Egypt and maintain coordination and consultation over various Arab and Muslim issues.

Earlier, the King made a telephone call with Al-Sisi and congratulated him for his being elected as new Egyptian president and said the win reflects the Egyptian people confidence in the new president.
