Dubai manager arrested in Bangkok

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS- A former Dubai property manager accused of siphoning US$150 million (Dh551m) from his colleague’s salaries was arrested in Bangkok yesterday, officials said.

Michael Bryan Smith, 43, was captured by police after authorities from the UAE requested assistance from the Thai police.

According to AFP, Smith, who is married to a Thai woman, travelled through Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Thailand after he fled Dubai.

He has denied all charges. His case will be handed to the Thai court system, where he is likely to face extradition and trial in the UAE..
