Jordan army foils attempt to smuggle huge cache of weapons, explosives from Syria

Ammon News - The Jordanian border guards at dawn on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle huge caches of light and medium weapons, explosives, drugs, and cigarettes from Syria into the Jordanian territories, an official source at the Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Wednesday.

The source added that the border guards clashed with five persons who were involved in the attempt, wounding one.

"The Jordanian Armed Forces will not tolerate anyone trying to harm the security of the homeland and the citizens and will strike with an iron fist and cut off the hand that extends to hurt or intimidate any citizen within the homeland's borders," the source affirmed.
