Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The total value of shares that were bought by Non-Jordanian investors during 2013 was JOD 939.5 million, representing 31 per cent of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JOD 792.6 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian investment for the same period showed an increase of JOD 146.9 million, compared to an increase of JOD 37.7 million for the same period of 2012 increase by (290 per cent).
Arab investors purchases during 2013 were JOD 818.5 million, or 87.1 per cent of the overall purchases by non-Jordanians, while the value of non-Arab purchases amounted to JOD 121.0 million, constituting 12.9 per cent of the total purchases. Arab investors sales amounted to JOD 693.2 million, 87.5 per cent of non-Jordanians total sales, while the value of non-Arab sales amounted to JOD 99.4 million, representing 12.5 per cent of the total sales by non-Jordanians.
The total value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors during December 2013 was JOD 52.7 million, representing 25.2 per cent of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JOD 40.9 million. Thus, the net of non-Jordanian investment during December 2013 showed an increase of JOD 11.8 million.
Non-Jordanian ownership in companies listed at the ASE by the end of the year 2013 represented 49.9 per cent of the total market value, 35.5 per cent for Arab investors and 14.4 per cent for non-Arab investors. At the sector level, the non-Jordanian ownership in the market capitalization of listed companies at the end of year reached 54.9 per cent for the financial sector, 30.5 per cent for the Services sector, and 52.3 per cent for the Industrial sector.
