24-12-2013 05:54 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Iraqi ambassador in Jordan , Jawad Hadi Abbas, said his country's authorities closed its borders with the Kingdom until further notice.

Abbas said for " tomorrow " that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki issued a memorandum in this regard today , attributing the closure of the border to security reasons related to internal campaign targeting an Iraqi army camp in the province Anbar.

The Iraqi ambassador called all to not go to the border until the announcement of its re-open.

Many of the trucks loaded with vegetables and fruits from Jordanian exporters are currently pending at the border waiting for it to open and to be allowed to enter the territory of Iraq , as Ambassador Abbas emphasized that trucks stationed in the region, " exchange " , which is the area between the borders of the two countries , will be allowed to enter.
