Update from Petra regarding current conditions

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Hisham Soualqh - Chief Commissioner of the Petra area , Dr. Mohamed Al-Noavelh said in a telephone interview with “Ammon “ that snow has reached in some areas of the province to heights exceeding 180 cm .

He stressed that main internal roads have been opened. But pedestrians should travel with caution. Some internal roads remain closed in the region. Workers are trying to divide the power and cooperation necessary among parties concerned to open these roads.

He hopes that citizens take the utmost cause and remain in the house except in necessary cases.

In regards to the tourist side of the area he stated that efforts are being put forth to help tourists to safety and help them enjoy their trips despite the current storm.
