He confirmed that the camp is in relatively good conditions in comparison to the previous two years. This is after the establishment of improved infrastructure, including its inclusion of services “water, and storm water and sewage, electricity and other”, as well as the establishment of collection points and discharge “gutters “ around the tents to get rid of rainwater .
Al-Hamoud spoke about the shortcomings experienced by refugees describing the situation is good, a few days ago bed sheets, blankets and heaters and other winter needs were distributed to the residents of the camp.
Al -Hamoud responded to allegations on the lack heaters in tents. Stating that certainly when they are not registered in the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and they are not obtaining the cards for asylum, this hinders their efforts to obtain different heating needs.
The Zaatari camp is located in the desert of the Mafraq Governorate, featuring more than 110 000 displaced Syrians, who fled from the difficult security situation in their country.
