874 cases of AIDS in Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - An estimated 874 people are living with HIV, “AIDS” in Jordan, according to the World Organization to Fight AIDS, UNAIDS.

The organization estimated that at least 260 thousand of the global number of are of people living with HIV in the Arab world. And according to the United Nations Development program (UNDP) it reached to a half a million cases.

The proportion of new infections increased during the past decade by 50 % in the Arab world ( from 21 thousand cases in 2001 to 32 thousand cases in 2012) . Also doubled the number of dead from the disease from 8,300 in 2001 to 17 thousand in 2012.
