Pharmacies take steps to to maintain medical availability and health of citizens

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Pharmacy Guild of companies and drug warehouses who have a debt to the Ministry of Health and the public health sector, have agreed the supply of medicines from the remaining bids this year will be utilized for the beginning of next year in order to maintain security, drug availability and health of citizens .
In a press statement on Monday, Captain Mohammed Ababneh stated that the drug companies and warehouses are hesitant about the supply bids next year due to their inability to pay its obligations to foreign entities that deal with the matter, which threatens the security of drugs in the Kingdom’s total debt. This is estimated at about 200 million dinars.
He appealed to the government and the public health sector to speed up the payment of their financial obligations to avoid interrupting classes of medicines.
He said the increase in the health budget for the year 2014 amounting to 70 million dinars could be a solution to this problem, adding that the will hold a meeting next week with warehouses and pharmaceutical companies to discuss possible steps.
