Human Rights: a priorty of the Jordanian government

Ammon News - Petra-The Minister of Justice Dr. Bassam Talhouni addresses the issue of human rights on Jordanian territory.

During his presidency of the committee formed by the Council of Ministers he motioned to take the necessary measures to address the contents of the ninth report of the human rights situation, which was issued by the National Center for Human Rights in 2012. He also noted that the issue of human rights is a priority of the Jordanian government.

Upon receiving the report, King Abdullah instructed the government to study and prepare a plan on how to implement and address the fundamental points that promote human rights. Noting that the ministries involved role of access to the report and the analysis of the recommendations will be contained in particular with regard to their work.

The Minister of Justice pointed out that the summary of their work is to develop a special plan for the implementation of the recommendations contained in the report within a specific time frame.

Additionally, during the meeting, sub-committee was formed. This sub-committee is Headed by the Minister of State, and membership as presidential adviser Basil Tarawnah and secretary generals for each of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and political development. The sub-committee will also include the director of the Directorate of Human Rights in the Ministry of Justice to receive the ministries’ notes and decisions relating to the recommendations contained in the report.

It has been identified that the mechanism of the Commission's work is through each representative. Each ministry of foundation will provide the mini-committee of observations concerning the Committee and will be handled according to priority, through their representative.

The members of the committee have expressed their observations about what is stated in the report during the brainstorming session that identified the mechanism of their work and argued the need for recommending measures are immediately realizable. Jordan has a tendency to support human rights issues as committed after the completion of the recommendations capable to be realized and implemented immediately.
