UPDATED : Blast rocks Iranian Embassy in Beirut, 10 killed, 50 injured

Ammon News - Agencies - At least ten people were killed, more than 50 were injured following a car bomb near the Iranian embassy in Beirut on Tuesday,international news agencies reported.

Residents reported a loud blast being heard, while local Lebanese media broadcast live images of smoke billowing from the embassy building.

A security source speaking to Reuters news agency denied earlier reports that the explosion was caused by rockets, saying the cause was a car bomb.

The Iranian ambassador is reportedly unharmed.
