In statements carried by the UAE official press agency, Blatter said the Emirates has earned the confidence of FIFA once again as the UAE-hosted U-17 FIFA World Cup commenced on Oct. 7. He described the event thus far as “wonderful” and that the early matches of the first round were “exciting.” “The UAE is a safe country with huge capabilities in terms of management and sport infrastructure qualifying it to be a great sport power.” The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup is the 15th tournament of its kind. The event will take place until Nov. 8.

Ammon News - Al Arabiya- FIFA President Sepp Blatter hailed the UAE on Friday for being able to host global events for all sports, not just exclusively football.

In statements carried by the UAE official press agency, Blatter said the Emirates has earned the confidence of FIFA once again as the UAE-hosted U-17 FIFA World Cup commenced on Oct. 7.
He described the event thus far as “wonderful” and that the early matches of the first round were “exciting.”
