Fuel Tanker crash kills 1, injures 3 in Zarqa

03-10-2013 05:36 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A tanker filled with gasoline collided with a sedan car in Zarqa on Thursday, killing one person and injuring three others.

The Zarqa governorate Civil Defense Department (CDD) Cadres rushed to the scene of the accident and administered first aid to the injured before transferring them, and the body of the victim, to the Zarqa state-run hospital.

The injured are reported to be in stable condition.

CDD reported that the tanker, filled with over 30 tons of fuel, overturned and led to large quantities of gasoline to leak onto the main street.

The fuel tanker is reportedly rented from Total Jordan by a fuel-transportation company specialized in transporting fuel products from the Zarqa oil refinery to gas stations throughout the kingdom. TOTAL Jordan does not own the tankers and the drivers are not employees of TOTAL.
