Ammon News - (KUNA)- Al-Qadsia football team defeated the guest Jordanian Al-Faisali 2-1 in their first contest in the semi-final of Asia Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2013.
Qadsia player Khaled Al-Qahtani scored the opening goal at the 38th minute at Peace and Friendship Stadium of Kazma Sporting Club.
In the second half, Qadsia player Musaed Neda scored the second goal at the 76th minute after a follow ball shot from teammate Bader Al-Mutawa.
The Kuwaiti side looked to be in a strong position for the second leg but Al-Faisali hit back through Rodrigo with a precious away goal eight minutes from full time before sending a low cross into the six-yard box where substitute Rodrigo had enough time to beat Nawaf Al-Khaldi from close range.
The second leg match will take place October 22nr in Jordan.
The Jordanian team won the AFC Cup title consecutively in 2005 and in 2006, and reached the final match in 2007.
