Ammon News - AMMAN (KUNA) Kuwaiti Squash team clinched first place on Friday in the U-13 category and third place in the U-17, at the conclusion of the 25th Arab Squash Championships.
The Kuwaiti team performed well in most categories, despite taking third place and losing to Jordan in the U-17 competitions, Kuwait Squash Federation Secretary Fayez Al-Mutairi told KUNA.
The official added such achievements did not come out of thin air, but hard work and preparation throughout the years, most notably Kuwait Squash ranking as number one in the Arabian Gulf, the Arab world, and adding they are keen to make it top in Asia.
Al-Mutairi, who is also Kuwait Federation Deputy President, applauded efforts by the federation, including past tournament and participation in this championship.
The Kuwaiti U-13 team, the youngest among all participating teams, performed exceptionally well, but needs more attention to develop the team even further for the future, Al-Mutairi added.
Next October, the Kuwaiti team will participate in the Arabian Gulf tournament for the U-15, and U-19, Al-Mutairi noted.
The event here in Amman, which concluded earlier, witnesses six-nation participation, including Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, Libya and host nation, Jordan.
