Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - 14 Coventry University students currently participating in the third Majid AlSadi Changing Lives Program visited the University of Jordan (UJ) on Tuesday.

During the visit the UK students engaged with the University of Jordan's Student Council and were interviewed by media students of the UJ Radio.

The UK students were welcomed by the dean of the University, Prof. Nael Shara’a, who graduated from Bristol University, UK.

During the meeting, Prof. Shara’a explained the differences between the British and Jordanian education systems. The UK students also visited the UJ library, the National Heritage Museum, and toured the campus. They also had the opportunity to better understand the Jordanian Bedouin heritage.

The Majid AlSadi Changing Lives Program was introduced in September 2012 by Dr. Majid AlSadi, Chairman and CEO of Eastern Holding, founder of the Majid AlSadi scholarship foundation, and an alumnus of Coventry University.

The first two Progams’ activities were conducted at Eastern Holding’s Madrasati sponsored schools in Irbid and Tal’et AlRuz. The objective of the Program is to impact and potentially change the lives of many underprivileged students in Jordan.

“It is my honor and corporate social responsibility as an entrepreneur to further education and to improve economic conditions among young people. In a sense we provide a smile on the faces of both children and their parents”, Dr. AlSadi once remarked.
