Ammon News - Shanghai (Petra)His Majesty King Abdullah visited on Monday Jinshan Economic Development Zone in Shanghai city which hosts large international companies advanced industries manufactured for export .

The king was briefed on the work of Jinshan Economic Development Zone which includes environment friendly industries that won UN-Habitat award in addition to a briefing on the companies working in the zone .

The king met with Jinshan Economic Development Zone District Governer Li Yuyi as well Executive Presidents of international companies working in the zone.

During the meeting the king asserted the kingdom's keenness on benefitting from the Chinese expertise as well as the experience of the Jinshan Economic Development Zone to enhance Jordan's experience in this regard.

His Majesty briefed the audience on Jordan's competitive privileges that include its unique position as a center for the countries in the region that connects Asia with Africa and Europe, in addition to its educated human resources".

King Abdullah added that the Jordan's position , as a gate for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries, makes it a center for regional and international trade. He added that Jordan has launched a number of developmental and free trade zones in the past decade which attracted foreign investors.

The king asserted , in the meeting which was attended by the Jordanian accompanying delegation , Jordan's commitment to providing a suitable business environment for investors and businessmen.

The king pointed that Jordan enjoys free trade agreements with the United States of America, Canada, the European Union, Singapore and Turkey in addition to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area which all guaranteed a free flow for Jordanian products to more than three billion consumers in the markets of the three continents . The King added that China could benefit from these agreements to reach new markets.

" We believe that China's assistance to the Kingdom and establishing developmental partnerships will motivate the economic and developmental zones to fully invest their potential to guarantee sustainable economic privileges for both peoples", the king further added.

Members of the Jordanian delegation gave presentations on the advantages of investing in Jordan and their keenness on cooperating with Chinese firms.

In an interview with "Petra" ,Jinshan Economic Development Zone District Governer Li Yuyi said that the king's visit to the zone helped in introducing Jordan's investment climate and its distinguished privileges. He added that the opportunity is available for Chinese firms to cooperate with Jordanian forms especially after the success of many Jordanian-Chinese partnerships.
