Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian cabinet and members of the Lower House of Parliament met on Monday morning to discuss Jordan's readiness for a possible air strike against Syria and the ramifications that may affect Jordan.
The meeting took place at the Parliament but was closed for media outlets.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh, Minister of Media Affairs and Communications Mohammad Momani, and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Khaled Kalaldeh reportedly attended the meeting.
The meeting of the Lower House of Parliament with members of the government on Monday morning was set to discuss Jordan's readiness for possible scenarios in neighboring Syria.
House Speaker Saad Hayel Srour announced that members of the Lower House will meet with the cabinet of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour in the Akef Al Fayez Hall, rather than under the Parliament Dome, considering that the meeting will discuss a matter not scheduled on the Work Plan of the parliamentary extraordinary session.
77 Members of Parliament had signed a memo calling for a joint meeting with the government to discuss Jordan's position towards developments in neighboring Syria, and Jordan's readiness and preparedness for possible upcoming scenarios there, including a potential US-led military strike on Damascus.
