Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II has not given a specific date to the Prime Minister to carry out the first reshuffle of his second government, Jordan's Premier Abdullah Ensour said on Monday.

Ensour disclosed during a press conference held at the Prime Ministry on Monday that the cabinet reshuffle will not include any deputies from the Lower House of Parliament, referring to deliberations made earlier in the year to reach a mechanism of parliamentary government that would witness the participation of MPs in future government formations.

"We hope that the kingdom will reach the stage of parliamentary governments, where the prime minister and cabinet members would be formed from inside the parliament," Ensour said.

The Prime Minister stated however that the list of names of cabinet ministers in the upcoming government reshuffle, slated to held later this week, has been finalized.

The cabinet reshuffle is expected to bring substantial change to the council of ministers, after Ensour formed a "slim" 18-member cabinet that was sworn in on March 30th, a from an average of 25-30 ministers.

Several ministers in the current government are holding more than one ministerial portfolio, with the reshuffle expected to bring in around 10 new ministers, and witness the departure of 3-4 ministers.
