Katamine: "Government is moving ahead to implement vital and important transportation projects"

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) – Minister of Labor and Minister of Transportation Nidal Katamine said the government is moving ahead to implement several important and vital transportation projects, such as the national railway project, the Bus Rapid Transit project, the El-Shidiya railway link and other projects.

Katamine noted that a number of infrastructure projects in the transportation sector will be implemented with funds from the Gulf grant such as the Phosphate mines railway link, the Amman - Zarqa link, restoration of the infrastructure of the public transportation sector (departure and arrival centers, development and implementation of smart transportation systems and establishment of loading and unloading stops for public transportation vehicles.

In a press conference on Sunday, Katamine reiterated the importance of these projects to develop the transportation sector’s infrastructure in Jordan, improve the quality of services provided to Jordanians, provide new job opportunities for them and curb traffic jams, traffic accidents and address environmental issues.
