Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - over 52,000 students as of Saturday afternoon applied for unified admission to Jordanian public universities through the Ministry of Higher Education's Electronic Admissions and Registration unit.
Head of the Admissions and Registration unit at the Ministry Dr. Ghaleb Horani stressed that the registration deadline, set to end at midnight on Saturday, will not be extended.
Horani noted in statements to Ammon News that the official results of student acceptance to Jordanian public universities will most probably be announced the first week of September.
Students who scored 65 percent and above in the Tawjihi (Secondary School General certificate Exams) are eligible to compete for seats in Jordan's 9 public universities, with over 500 different fields of study offered at the institutions.
The Ministry of Higher Education has adopted the electronic system for unified admission at its official website for all students to apply to compete, with the exception of a number of disciplines that require direct admission to specific universities, such as the fields of architecture, fine arts, and physical education, Horani said.
