Ammon News - KUWAIT (Petra) – Former Ambassador of Kuwait in Amman Sheikh Faisal al Hmoud al Sabah said Kuwait's ties with Jordan represent the most prominent and important form of Arab integration in political, economic, investment, academic and cultural fields.
In an interview he gave to the Jordan News Agency correspondent in Kuwait, Sheikh Faisal said: "We, Kuwaitis, have the most precious in Jordan (money and people)," noting that investments in Jordan by Kuwaitis and private sector firms, and the fact that Kuwaitis were sending their loved ones to study in its renowned universities and institutions, are a living and definite example that reiterates the strength of these bilateral ties. He added that these bilateral ties have become an Arab model for integration and solidarity in its best form.
He said he was proud of the time he spent as an ambassador of his country in Jordan and added that the historical links and ties, founded by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Sabah, have resulted in valuable cooperation in all fields to an extent that these have become an example to be emulated for Arab and regional integration.
"We in Kuwait look at the annual brotherly visit by His Majesty to meet His Highness the Emir in Ramadan as an expression of the deep historical relations between the two leaderships, peoples and governments," the envoy said, noting that during his tenure in Jordan, he felt the closeness that Jordanian and Kuwaiti peoples shared and he himself felt at home among the noble Jordanians with whom he was still in regular contact." Sheikh Faisal said that during his tenure in Jordan as the ambassador of his country, he came to know the Jordanian state first hand, and its qualities were manifested through the wisdom of its leadership and the hard work of its people. He said Jordan’s most wonderful civilizational and developmental accomplishments have earned the admiration of the whole world.
He pointed out that anyone who observes the tense situation in the region can sense the farsightedness of the Hashemite leadership, represented by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the people and the government of Jordan. They have remained focused on ensuring that their country remained an oasis of security and peace for anyone fleeing tensions in many other Arab countries. He said Jordan has played a leading role in minimizing these tensions and helping global efforts to contain the destructive impact of such tensions.
Sheikh Faisal said the status achieved by Jordan as a result of playing a pivotal role in the region didn't come out of thin air; instead, it was the outcome of the statesmanship, farsightedness and the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
