Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - US Secretary John Kerry arrives in Amman on Tuesday where he is set to meet with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Ambassador in Jordan Attallah Khairi told Ammon News.
Kerry is also set to meet with Jordanian officials and foreign ministers of Arab nations and the Arab League in Amman on Wednesday.
During his meetings, Secretary Kerry is expected to provide an on Middle East Peace, The State Department announced, while in Jordan, he will meet with King Abdullah and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, as well as Arab League officials.
In his sixth trip to the region, Kerry is trying to push Israelis and Palestinians back to peace talks.
Kerry is also expected to discuss the political upheaval in Egypt and the conflict in Syria.
"The secretary would not be going back to the region if he did not feel there was an opportunity (for) taking steps forward in providing an to representatives of the Arab League ... but beyond that I don't have any announcements or predictions to make," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters.
